Constantan is resistance alloy, its main compositions are copper and nickel. It has high resistivity, lower resistance temperature coefficient, wider operated temperature range(< 400℃) and it has higher anti-corrosion, heatproof, fine processing property and weldability, Its apply for AC rheostat, electrical resistor, fuse protector, light source, electric vacuum, and other electric heating devices. However, the EMF and resistance temperature coefficient is larger than manganin, it usually is not used for standard resistor or shunt of DC measuring instrument.
